If you’re not eligible for breastfeeding care through The Lactation Network, we still want to help you find the care you need. Browse the following resources to find a lactation consultant, support group, or trusted online information many are free, low-cost, or covered by insurance. 

Free support groups

Government assistance

  • The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) can help you get breastfeeding support, nutrition counseling, parenting advice, food assistance, and social service referrals. You can see if you’re eligible and contact your local WIC agency here.

Insurance-covered care

  • If you are insured by Tricare East, click here to find a lactation consultant who accepts your plan. Enter your location and click Search to find a provider near you.

  • If you are insured by Tricare West, click here to find a lactation consultant who accepts your plan. Enter your city and select your Tricare plan type. Then click Doctors by specialty and type in Lactation to find a provider near you.

  • If you are insured by Blue Cross and Blue Shield, click here to find a lactation consultant who accepts your plan. Enter your city and plan type, then click Doctors by specialty and type in Lactation to find a provider near you.

  • If you are insured by Aetna, click here to find a lactation consultant who accepts your plan. Either log in to your member account or choose which plan you have. Then search by specialty and type in Lactation to find a provider near you.

  • If you are insured by Anthem, click here to find a lactation consultant who accepts your plan. Either log in to your member account, use your member ID, or search by plan type. Then search by specialty and type in Lactation to find a provider near you.

  • If you are insured by Cigna, click here to find a lactation consultant who accepts your plan. Enter your location, select Doctor by Type and type in Lactation to find a provider near you.

  • If your plan isn’t listed above: 

    • Check the back of your insurance card for a member services phone number. Tell the representative that youre looking for a lactation consultant, and they should be able to provide you with a list of providers.
    • If you have a login for your health insurance website, use the Find a provider search tool and type in Lactation consultant.
    • If you’re already working with a lactation consultant, ask if they can provide you with a super bill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
