BREASTFEEDING CARE FOR your PATIENTS

The Lactation Network connects expectant and postpartum patients to the largest network of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs).

IBCLCs provide the gold standard of lactation care in person or via telehealth, and work alongside you to foster a transparent, collaborative model of care.

Accessible support
  • Largest national network of IBCLCs, with providers in all 50 states offering care in the modality your patient chooses.
  • At home, in-office, or virtual care. Over 85% of TLN patients prefer in-person care.
  • TLN confirms eligibility with patient’s insurance within 24-72 hours based on acuity.
Clinical expertise
  • IBCLCs are the highest-credentialed lactation clinicians.
  • Board Certification includes a minimum of 14 college-level health science courses, 95 hours of lactation-specific education, and 300-1,000 clinical hours.
  • IBCLCs pursue ongoing education and minimum clinical hours every 5 years after certification.
Collaborative care
  • In most cases, a formal referral isn’t needed.
  • Patients can see an IBCLC in as little as 24 hours after approval.
  • IBCLCs can share charting with you for visibility into patients’ care plan.

WHEN SHOULD YOU refer?

IBCLCs can provide acute and preventative care, from the prenatal period all the way to weaning. Every feeding journey is unique, but these key milestones are when your patients may benefit most from an IBCLC’s guidance.
